Speech and Language Therapist
Experienced Band 5 / 6
West Hertfordshire and London
£39,781 to £45,953 pro rata, DOE
Up to 4 days a week. Potential to progress to full time.
Are you a Band 5/aspiring Band 6 SaLT, with experience of working in schools and with autistic young people? Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your career in an extremely varied role? If you’d like to join an innovative therapy team, and enjoy flexibility, career progression and a competitive salary, we may have the ideal opportunity for you. To start in September.
A truly varied role
This is such an exciting, career-building opportunity, as it offers the chance to support all kinds of children and young people, with diverse needs, in diverse settings. You’ll be working for 3.5 days a week, across three educational settings. With half a day set aside solely for your admin and CPD.
If you’re looking for fewer than 4 days, please do get in touch, as we’re always open to conversations about working patterns.
On one day, you’ll be working in a brand new, specialist secondary hub that’s aimed at supporting young people with their language and communication, playing a key role in shaping this new provision. Your half day will be spent in the associated mainstream secondary, alongside one of our established SaLTs. This means you’ll be able to build connections, and maintain consistency, helping children across the whole school. (You can also choose to work the half day every week, or attend for a full day every two weeks.)
You’ll work for another day in a small, specialist provision, supporting children with autism and complex needs, and for another in a well-run and regarded mainstream London primary school.
The settings are in west Hertfordshire, west London and north west London, all within a radius of around 12 miles. While you won’t need to travel between them, for an idea of commuting times, it’s a 30 to 45-minute drive from one to another.

Who we’re looking for
An experienced Band 5/aspiring Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist. You’ll need previous experience of working in schools and with autistic children. You should be unflappable, highly adaptable, and a great communicator. Ideally, you’ll have a driving licence and access to a car.
You’ll also need to be able to work legally in UK and be registered with the HCPC.
